Từ vựng ACT đem lại khó khăn gì?
Để có thể kiểm soát tốt thời gian làm bài, bạn cần nắm chắc lượng từ vựng để có thể đọc hiểu nhanh yêu cầu đề bài và trình bày cách diễn đạt của mình sao cho đúng đề và ăn trọn điểm. Nhưng không mấy thí sinh cảm thấy việc trau dồi từ vựng ACT là dễ dàng, tại sao vậy?
Khác với các chứng chỉ quốc tế ngoại ngữ như IELTS, TOEIC, TOEFL,…chứng chỉ học thuật ACT là điều kiện tiên quyết khi xét tuyển vào các trường Đại học của Mỹ. Mặc dù bạn đã có vốn tiếng Anh cơ bản, nhưng rèn luyện ACT thường gây cho bạn những khó khăn như:
- Lượng từ vựng nhiều: Chỉ trau dồi từ vựng cơ bản dành cho giao tiếp thông thường là chưa đủ cho bạn thi ACT. Từ vựng ACT vừa có số lượng nhiều vừa học thuật nên khiến thí sinh gặp khó khăn trong việc áp dụng vào thực tế và dễ quên nếu không được trau dồi thường xuyên.
- Từ vựng phải đi kèm với ngữ cảnh: Dù bài thi ACT chỉ kiểm tra từ vựng ở mức độ trung bình đến khó nhưng nếu bạn chỉ biết nghĩa chung chung của từ là chưa đủ.
